Driving Creek Railway and Pottery: Driving Creek Railway (3km out of Coromandel Town) is a 3km narrow gauge railway line which takes in tunnels, spirals, reversing points and viaducts. This innovatively designed, hand-built train provides comfortable open sided rides for all ages through re-planted native kauri. Originally built to bring clay and pine wood fuel down to the potteries, the line has taken 25 years and much hard labour to build. Hear the fascinating story of one mans dream. The panoramic views from the top are simply stunning! Also visit the sculpture garden, book and craft shop. Be sure to pre-book, this is a very popular attraction.
