Abel Tasman National Park
3 Day Guided Walk or Walk/Kayak Combo
From $1,099 per person
Departs Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Experience the best of Abel Tasman National Park.  Sling on a day-pack and head out to meet paradise.  Where gentle beech forests give way to deserted golden beaches and glistening bays, where sunshine is in endless supply. And where silence was invented.  Walk in native forest or sea kayak the coast. Wander the golden sand beaches or paddle a canoe in an estuary. Come home to one of our beachfront lodges for a gourmet meal, fine wine and good company.  Stay out late, gazing at the stars, then retire to your own room and let the waves soothe you to sleep at the end of a day that can be as adventurous or as relaxing as you like.  This walk is suitable for all ages, no heavy pack required as your luggage is transported to your lodge by boat.  You will stay in the only beachfront lodges in the park.  Open fires and central heating ensure cosy comfort year round.  We'll carry your bags, cook your meals and accommodate you.  Maximum group size 20.  Minimum age for child - 12 years.
Walk Itinerary:
Day One:  You'll be picked up in Nelson (7.30am) or Moteuka (8.30am) this morning, and after an introduction to the park, today's walk will take you along pristine bays and headlands.  Lunch will be in any one of the bays, and then it's on the Torrent Bay Lodge, your home tonight.  Approximate walk time: 4 hours.
Day Two:  Leave Torrent Bay to enjoy a morning walking through native forest with magnificent coastal views, and crossing of the swing bridge at Falls River. Midday, you'll stop for lunch at Bark Bay, or continue on to Onetahuti, taking time out to relax, explore, swim or sunbathe on the golden sands. You'll have the opportunity to Visit places of historical and scenic interest, including the abandoned Tonga Quarry.  From Onetahuti, walk over the Tonga Saddle to the Meadowbank Homestead at Awaroa where you'll rest and recharge for the final day tomorrow.
Day Three:  Today, you'll cross the Awaroa estuary, and be introduced to its fascinating history. The walking will take you through the northern forests of the park with magnificent specimens of Nikau Palm and Rata. At Totaranui, join the comfortable launch to cruise the coastline you have just walked. Hot drinks, covered or open decks and bathroom facilities will be available on board.  The coach will return you to Motueka (4.30pm) or Nelson (5.30pm).
Walking each day is optional. You are welcome to travel on any of our scheduled launch cruises to shorten the days activity. This flexibility allows couples or groups to experience the Park together although interests and fitness levels may vary.  A combination of kayaking and walking is possible at no extra charge and must be booked at time of booking.  A 5 Day Guided Walk or Walk/Kayak combo is also available.
